Reiki (pronouced Ray-Key), means Universal-all-Knowing Energy.  It is what everything in the known Universe is made up from....be it a tree, a flower, an animal, a human being, the clouds.   A Scientist will gladly inform you that everything is made up of molecules that come together to produce solidness....we are all connected, connected to the plants, animals, clouds, like water, fluid mixing.

Reiki is a hands-off, or light touch complementary modality, that blends alongside allurpathic, regular medicine, doctors, surgeons, physical therapists, psychiatrists....the list goes on....it is safe, since it is "us", it is Universal Life Force Energy. 

This Energy flows into me, and out of my hands into you....it mixes with your exisiting energy, and you and "It" decide whether to work together or not, to assist you in healing, making changes in your life, whatever your current journey! 

It is "Intelligient Energy" therefore, unlike using a machine, it knows where the energy is needed, how much to place in a spot, whether it ought to be heat, or cold....it knows when to stop, and intuitively informs me. 

If you feel slightly more pain than you can handle, whilst receiving Reiki, (and this can occur occasionally since sometimes there is more pain for a moment, then it subsides), never allow the Reiki Practitioner to continue, after all it is your body and each can withstand different amounts of pain/healing...... tell them you are in pain.....it is a three-way session.....the Reiki Practitioner, being sensitive to your needs, will stop until the pain subsides, and then it is safe to commence again until the pain returns?, stop again and start again.....until the Guides inform the Reiki Practitioner that you have had enough, or you tell the Practitioner/me.

During a session people have commented that they sense a pleasant tingling, or waves of gentle throbbing;  some say they feel comforting warmth or heat, and then others experience a coolness over the area that my hands are hovering over, or placed on.  Another amazing feature of the Intelligient Reiki Energy is that the heat or coolness may not be felt where my hands are placed....it may be felt in another part of their body instead!  Then occasionally I will feel the heat in my hands and the client will feel nothing;  another time the client will feel heat and I feel nothing!

It has nothing to do with any religion, or having faith that it will work.....yet for me, since I do believe in a God, Spirit, Soul, or Higher Force,....it does seem like a most wondrous, almost magical "Gift" from the Universe. 

This energy existed eons ago....it is an Ancient Art, that some believe was even utilized and known in Jesus's lifetime.  It was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, in the 1800's,  who was searching diligently with prayers and fasting (his form of connecting and finding answers....what is yours?)....and when he was ending his 21-day ordeal he received this amazing "Gift" and began his purpose in life, of spreading this knowledge and sharing it with all that were sent his way, by the Angels and Guides, ready to receive it.  Thus the "Usui Reiki Ryoho" system was molded and shaped. 

To this day, there are thousands of Reiki Practitioners throughout the World, ready to empower you to heal yourself.  Healing can take place on the physical level, spiritual/soul level, or emotional and mental levels.  From what I have read regarding Reiki, I have formed the opinion that there are cut-off branches of  Dr. Usui's Reiki, and some Practitioners receiving their own inspirations, have created differently named types of Reiki.  Some will state that their type of Reiki is stronger.   So if you come across Lightarian Reiki, Seichem Reiki or other Reiki names, they all can assist you.  Also there are many other wonderful modalities out there for each persons' uniqueness....afterall we all may not like massage, reflexology, past life regression therapy, or the smell of essential oils.....so there is definitely something out there that may assist you....if not, then may be it is you, who will create it?

Other forms of healing modalities are, Shiatsu Massage, Rolfing, Bowen technique, Barbara Brennan's healing hands method, Guided Imagery/Visualization, Breathe Work, Past Life Regression, various Meditations, Music Therapy, Yoga, Pilates, Dancing...... the list goes on and on, and I thank them all....smile.....since they are all needed!
